Nathan Thompson, DMD

Dentist

Dr. Thompson is originally from Louisville, KY. He holds a BS in biology from the University of Kentucky and a DMD (Doctor of Dental Medicine) from the University of Louisville.

After dental school, Dr. Thompson completed an American Dental Association-approved general practice residency at the University of Louisville Hospital. Dr. Thompson has been practicing dentistry for over 25 years with 11 of those years here in Scottsburg.

The relationships he builds with patients of all types of backgrounds is one of Dr. Thompson's favorite things about his job. He likes to perform different procedures, and he appreciates the variety that dentistry brings to his day as no two days are alike.

When he's not helping patients, Dr. Thompson can be found outdoors! He enjoys hiking, camping, and fishing, as well as enjoying time with his 3 grown kids and wife of 30 years.

Dora Hutton

Hygienist

Dora is a graduate of the University of Louisville and has proudly served as a dental hygienist at Dr. Thompson's office for more than 32 years. Throughout her career, she has been dedicated to providing high-quality patient care while helping patients achieve and maintain optimal oral health.

One of the most rewarding aspects of my profession has been building long-term relationships with our patients and working alongside an exceptional team of colleagues. The supportive environment in our office has made it feel like a second family, and I am grateful to be part of such a caring practice.

Outside the office, I enjoy traveling and spending time with my two adult daughters and three grandchildren. I value the opportunity to create lasting memories with my family and cherish the time we spend together.

Apple Helton

Dental Assistant

Apple is an experienced Dental Assistant with 19 years of dedicated service in the dental field. Throughout her career, she has developed extensive expertise in patient care, clinical support, coronal polishing, fluoride application, and dental radiography.

Holding a Radiology License, Apple is committed to maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and quality care. Her strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and compassionate approach help create a positive experience for patients while supporting the efficiency and success of the dental team.

With nearly two decades of experience, she has built a reputation for professionalism, reliability, and a genuine passion for helping patients achieve and maintain healthy smiles. She remains dedicated to staying current with industry best practices and contributing to exceptional dental care.

Outside of her professional life, Apple enjoys spending quality time with her family, tending to her garden, cooking, and traveling. She values creating meaningful memories with her loved ones and embraces opportunities to explore new places and experiences.

Ella Horstman

Dental Assistant

Ella received her education through Prosser and has been a part of our team for the past year. She is very passionate about the dental field and enjoys helping patients feel comfortable, welcomed, and cared for during their visits. One of her favorite parts of the job is getting to know the patients and hearing about their lives. She loves coming to work each day because every patient has a different story to share. She enjoys the opportunity to connect with so many wonderful people from different backgrounds and experiences.

Outside of work, Ella enjoys fishing, reading, and painting. She also loves spending time with her friends, family, and all her animals. She is so grateful to be part of a team that is dedicated to providing excellent patient care, and she looks forward to helping our patients achieve healthy, confident smiles.

Allison Steward

Office Manager

Allison has 32 years of experience in the dental field, she brings a wealth of knowledge, leadership, and compassion to the practice She earned both an Associates of Science in Dental Assisting and a Bachelor of Health Services from the University of Southern Indiana, providing a strong foundation for her career in dentistry.

For the past 18 years, she has proudly been a part of the team at our office, where she enjoys building lasting relationships with patients and helping create a welcoming, positive experience for everyone who walks through the door. She finds the most rewarding part of her job is getting to know patients over the years and working alongside a dedicated team to help people achieve healthy, confident smiles.

Outside of the office, she loves spending quality time with her family and making memories with her grandchildren.

Shannon Farmer

Front Office

Shannon has over 28 years experience in the dental field, working in both clinical and front office roles in general and pediatric dentistry.

She has been part of Dr. Thompson's office for the past eight years and enjoys sharing her dental knowledge while taking time to truly care for and get to know her patients.

Originally from Colorado, Shannon now lives in Brownstown, Indiana, with her husband, Jason, and daughter, Payton, where they raise and show cattle. In her free time, she enjoys traveling across the country for cattle shows, relaxing at the beach, and cheering on the Cincinnati Reds and the Indiana Pacers.
